transitional piece of mind

Crappy iPhone selfie? Check.

This is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I snagged it at Savoir-Faire a little while ago and I absolutely love it! This lightweight coat is perfect for layering and transitioning into warmer weather, especially with the cooler days and nights we’ve had recently.

I’ll pretty much buy anything with pockets.

apartment therapy

IMG_2437.JPGYou’d think after almost 8 months of living here that I would have my place in order.

Wrong.

I’m constantly thinking of new things to do with it but not actually doing anything. There are several Instagram accounts I’ve started following that have flooded my brain with inspiration. Little by little, I’m getting there.

I love a warm, inviting space. Welcoming colors and prints that make you feel at home. There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re in a cold, harsh place where you don’t think you can prop your feet up. Bohemian accents with Mid-Century Modern furniture describe what I envision for my place. For the longest time, I had a skewed view of what that meant, but things I’ve came across have surprised me. I guess I thought Bohemian meant “hippie” more than anything else. Anyway, I’ve linked some cool items below as well as some Instagram accounts to check out.

Pillows: My pillows are sold out but here are similar ones

Ithaca Throw Pillow (on sale!)
Montage Throw Pillow
Magical Thinking Roya Crewel Tonal Pillow

Lamps: Target has amazing lamps and I love it

Tripod Floor Lamp
Modern Globe Floor Lamp

hats x hats x hats

I feel like there is absolutely no way to go wrong with a hat. Period. They add an immediate extra kick to any outfit and anyone can wear them. Anyone! I wear this hat probably way too often and what I hear most is, “I wish I could rock a hat like you!”

Well, you can. It’s that simple.

I think the majority of the time people just aren’t used to wearing hats so they feel as though they look dumb. That’s not true! The more you experiment with hats, just like with any other fashion choice, the more you feel comfortable. Whether it be a beanie, fedora, baseball or floppy hat. The options are endless and you just have to find what works best for you and what you feel most comfortable in.

I’ve listed a few of my favorite options below, so check them out and have fun with it!

FOREVER21

Classic Wool Fedora $22.90
Brooklyn Hat Co. Fedora $68.00
Straw Woven Fedora $14.90

SAVOIR-FAIRE

Distressed Baseball Cap $18.00
Chills & Thrills Fedora $24.00
Braided Trim Wool Panama Hat $32.00

my fave essential oils

IMG_2400.JPG

Essential oils have been around for centuries but have become very popular over the last few years. I’ve slowly started learning more and more about them, and I love finding new ways to deal with illnesses that don’t involve taking medications.

These are my top three I swear by on a daily basis.

Breathe Again™ Roll-On : Allergies are the devil and the change of seasons always brings out the worst. It has been worse recently because the weather has been so back and forth. Personally, I love an essential oil over any type of allergy medication. This oil blend comes with a convenient roll-on applicator. There are other types that you can add to a diffuser as well.

DiGize™ : An uncomfortable subject for most people – digestion. Gluten intolerances and basic digestion issues affect many people. I was recently introduced to this product and it’s crazy how much it actually works. It can be used several ways as listed below:

  • Apply several drops (2-4) on ears, wrists, neck, forehead, temples or feet
  • Apply to chakras/vitaflex points
  • Directly inhale
  • Diffuse
  • Orally (1-2 drops up to 3 times a day) mixed with a beverage, in food or a capsule

Certified Organic Lavender Oil : I don’t even know where to begin with lavender oil. It has so many uses and is by far my favorite essential oil. If I had to suggest just one, it would be lavender! From a sleep aid to nosebleeds, this is it. Check out this article for different uses of this essential oil

I hope everyone enjoys this post and please feel free to comment your favorite essential oils, recipes, and general uses.
